See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

If you're writing a romance, and you want it to be a good and healthy and successful romance, I think at some point you gotta ask: How are the kids going to be parented down the road

incomingalbatross

I'm not asking that they be perfect but I AM asking if they'll be able to work together as a team with the same objectives. If they can trust each other with their children. If they can trust each other with themselves in the moments they're not capable of parenting.

Anonymous asked:

What's your least favorite "hot take" about Catholicism from non-catholics? Options are, St. Joan of Arc was LGBTQ. Or that Catholics worship Mary.

patron-saint-of-smartasses answered:

THERE ARE SO MANY THO—

But here is one recent thing.

So I am doing a research project, and pet of this requires me to go over women’s health + medical books of the past. I have one from the 40s right now. On the topic of contraception, they mentioned “oh yeah those religious minority who hate birth control don’t get to tell you what to use, no one is forcing them to use birth control!!!”

Well, 80 years later, we have:

NUMEROUS eugenics-based birth control coercion scandals

A CDC that STILL tries on outdated, unreliable research to claim that all fertility awareness methods are the same and inaccurate

An overwhelming amount of women who experience mild to severe birth control side effects and unplanned pregnancy due to constant disuse of said BC, but are not given much better options

A recent court case against the Biden Administration when they tried (and thankfully failed) to remove insurance coverage over the Marquette Method of fertility awareness

Women being ridiculed, pressured, and shamed into using BC the moment their bodies mature at adolescence, because we’re expected to be doped up and sterile for when boys/men decide to sexually use us.

So yeah. My least favorite anti-Catholic “take?” The one that says we’re obsessed with keeping women poor and pregnant, when in reality we’re a century into waiting on the world to catch up with us on medical ethics and sexual welfare.

[ID: first photo is an icon of Blessed Frank Jägerstätter. He is in a suit and holding a Bible, behind him is the devil with a Nazi flag. The second photo is a tweet from Zac Slayback. He tweets:

“Today on the Catholic liturgical calendar is the optional memorial of Blessed Frank Jägerstätter, an Austrian farmer who was the only person in his village to vote against the Anschluss and was later guillotined by the Nazis for refusing to take an oath to Hitler.

When drafted to fight, he refused to fight in the Nazis wars of aggression, believing that any duty to his country could not be justified when fighting other people simply defending their own homes.

Pope Benedict XVI beatified him in 2007.”]

"With as many as 130 million Chinese Christians and the continuing explosive growth of the underground church, there are now more Christians in China than members of the Chinese communist party.

The Chinese government's persecution of Christians has only led to even more church growth, causing the Communist Party to now target the Bible itself, with what it calls an "update" with "socialist values," and removing passages that don't reflect communist beliefs."

We are winning and they don't like it.
